Definitely Worth It |
|
Im not here to do a shameless promo of this television. Im taking my time to let you know that this TV is well worth buying. As you may have saw this TV is £169, now compared to the panasonics and sonys which start from about £250 you may think this TV is lame, but actually it is BRILLIANT. Now especially people on a tight budget you have to consider this TV. It has 2 scarts (euro av) one with an RGB signal and one with S- Video/S-VHS (probably the clearest quality you will get). There is another feature which i want to talk about is the radio. You can actually store and name all the stations in your area and it has a handy screensaver so the idle text doesnt burn into the screen. There is the ability to stretch the screen size vertically. (when there is a widescreen feature on it makes it slightly larger, about an inch) Also other feature like teletext, smartext (store fave. pages) AV cleverly hidden to the side and other features youd expect. There is only one flaw if any in my case and that is it doesnt have 2 phono sockets to connect to the Hi-Fi, But in the manual it says this varies between models. Otherwise this television is highly recommended.5 stars.

Philips SBCVL1400 Wireless TV link |
|
I bought this principally to avoid the hassle of having to install additional aerials/leads into other rooms so we could watch our portable television. However weve been using it for a couple of weeks now and can say that this is most definetly the business. The picture reproduction on DVD, Video or plain TV signal (sent through the video) is outstanding. It comes with a quality remote control that will operate all of your appliances if you want (existing remotes will operate wherever the remote TV is) and 2 scart leads. What more do you want.

This really works very well ! |
I purchased this as bit of an experiment really and have been most pleasantly surprised by the results. I have a wireless LAN at home as well as a wireless central heating roomstat/programmer and I have had no major difficulties getting a clear and crisp picture. I did try a few different channel combinations on my wireless LAN as well at the transmitter and receiver to get the best reception as the default setting (position 1 on transmitter)did suffer from some lines across the screen on TV2.A second slight problem was when I changed my Sky Digibox from a Pace one to a Sony VTX-S760U, for whatever reason this stopped the remote control from being able to change Sky channels from TV2, this was easily rectified by attaching the remote control blaster cord which is supplied. I can now watch and operate Sky, DVDs and videos from the bedroom without having to run cables, purchase more equipment or a get a second sky subsciption. All in all a very nice solution for £79.99, the savings should go towards buying the LCD panel TV for the bedroom. Final comment, the finish quality of both boxes is very nice, as is the 6-in-one remote contoller.
